An offspin from Zapaday, Hitsplitter is a tool to dig Google, to dig the web.

Hitsplitter runs many searches on Google and let’s you easily compare search results. Check the popularity of your brand, product, name or whatever across top level domains, like com/nl/de/net etc. And across other domains or any Google advanced search attribute.

We made Hitsplitter for linguists, marketers, etymologists, journalists, brand watchers, cybergeographists and other curious folks. That includes ourselves.

Online Thermostat

In 2007 we proposed an online thermostat to an unnamed client. In 2008 we helped define requirements and created the interaction design.

Now in pilot, it’s far more easy to use than your average programmable thermostat (85% of people do NOT program their programmable thermostat).

So now, finally, you can easily tell your thermostat when you’re waking up, away, working, relaxing, sleeping.

We added reviews and the database became a site, offering the best places to go for your built to order guitar, dress, bag, phone, drum kit, skate board, sleeping bag, candy, scrabble board, bicycle, …

We develop Fairmail in co-operation with some well known charities. Work in progress.

Ecobarrier

Airport Schiphol wrote an international design contest for a sound barrier between its Polderbaan and Hoofddorp.

One of near 100 contestants from 17 countries, Toine van Goethem got into the second round with his Ecobarrier concept. We joined the team, participating in the design and delivering a business plan for the Ecobarrier.

The Ecobarrier reduces sound levels and makes money by converting Schiphol sewage and de-icing fluids into electricity and algae paste.

In the exciting final in January 2009, Toine’s team won first prize. The Ecobarrier is now under construction by Schiphol.
